Last week, Burnside State School participated in its 4 year review with three reviewers critiquing our school’s documents, data and processes as well as interviewing every staff member, student groups, parents and community stakeholders. Whilst we do not have our official report yet, the key messages from the review team affirm that EVERY Burnside staff member carries with them, a commitment to doing their very best and a focus on team work to support our students to have success through their engagement, wellbeing and learning.
I took great pride in hearing the wonderful work of our staff acknowledged through this review. The deep care and commitment of every staff member shone through! I know as we continue to move forward with our improvement focus through our 2024 – 2028 strategic plan, nurturing and caring for our students will continue to be at the centre of our work.

As such we are going to do an impromptu free dress day on Tuesday 28/02/23 with a Burnside Shines theme so wear your most shimmery, shiny outfit and acknowledge the staff that shine bright at Burnside every day. Maybe a pair of yellow socks or a gold tiara in your hair. Get the glitter out if necessary!! Maybe a sequined hat or bow tie. There is no cost for this free dress day and parents are asked to not purchase anything additional. Just ask your child to wear something bright and sparkly!
